What Are UV Cup Wraps?

What You'll Need
- Your UV cup wrap transfer
- A clean, dry tumbler or cup
- A squeegee or credit card (optional, for smoothing)
- Rubbing alcohol + lint-free cloth (recommended for prep)
Step-by-Step: How to Apply a UV Cup Wrap
- Clean your surface. Wipe down your tumbler with rubbing alcohol and let it dry completely. This removes oils and dust that can prevent adhesion.
- Peel the backing. Carefully peel the white/clear backing paper away from the transfer, starting from one corner. The design will remain on the clear film.
- Align the transfer. Position the leading edge of the wrap at your starting point on the tumbler. Make sure it's level before pressing down.
- Wrap and press. Slowly roll the tumbler into the transfer, smoothing as you go to eliminate air bubbles. Use a squeegee or your fingers to press firmly from the center outward.
- Remove the top film. Once the wrap is fully applied and pressed down, slowly peel away the clear top film at a low angle. If any part lifts, press it back down and wait a few seconds before trying again.
- Final press. Run your fingers or a squeegee over the entire wrap one more time to ensure full adhesion, especially around the seam.
Tips for a Perfect Application
- Work in a warm environment, cold surfaces can reduce adhesion.
- Go slow around curves and tapered areas to avoid wrinkles.
- For coated tumblers (powder coat, epoxy), UV wraps adhere best to smooth finishes.
- Avoid submerging in water for 24 hours after application for best results.
Are UV Cup Wraps Dishwasher Safe?
UV DTF cup wraps are water-resistant but are best maintained with hand washing. Prolonged dishwasher exposure can reduce the lifespan of the transfer over time.
